U10 Smashball with Bidlake

Service Description

Who: 10U Athletes born from September 2015 to December 2017. When: Monday Nights 6-7PM starting February 9. Please see booking schedule for all dates. Location: Evergreen Park School. **MUST register with Volleyball New Brunswick as a Youth Recreational Player $22. Instructions will be sent via email before the 1st session. ***ALL OUTDOOR FOOTWEAR MUST BE REMOVED BEFORE ENTERING THE GYM*** About the coach: Bidlake (his name is Andrew but we call him Bidlake!): -30+ years experience as a player: Played for Team NB Canada Games 2001, and also played for UNB. -20+ years experience of coaching: Assistant Coach at 2013 Canada Games, Head Coach 2022 Canada Games Beach Volleyball, Assistant Coach for Crandall University + many other youth programs. About what the kids will be learning: What is Smashball? Volleyball Canada's recommends starting with "Smashball" for very young players new to the game. It simplifies the game while keeping it fun and engaging. Using a smaller court (badminton nets), lower net, and lighter ball allows kids to develop basic volleyball skills without feeling overwhelmed by a massive court and a massive net. It builds confidence, encourages teamwork, and helps players understand game flow and positioning—creating a strong foundation before transitioning to traditional volleyball.
